Tourism Malaysia has announced an exciting collaboration with Winning Moves to produce a special edition of the MONOPOLY board game featuring the iconic attractions of Kuala Lumpur. This limited-edition MONOPOLY: Kuala Lumpur Edition will be available worldwide at the end of 2025, aligning with the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.
The partnership aims to introduce Kuala Lumpur’s rich cultural heritage and dynamic attractions to a global audience through an interactive and widely recognized game format. Featuring landmarks from the capital city, the edition offers a unique way for both tourists and locals to engage with the city’s diverse offerings, from its vibrant street life to its modern landmarks.
YBhg Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, said: “We’re excited to partner with Monopoly to bring a piece of Kuala Lumpur to life through this interactive board game. Hence, this collaboration allows us to reach a wider audience and inspire future travelers by sharing the beauty and adventure of Kuala Lumpur in a completely new way.”
The launch of the Kuala Lumpur edition aims to build awareness for the VM2026 campaign by sparking curiosity about the city’s culture, communities, and landscapes. By incorporating Kuala Lumpur into the game, the initiative highlights the city’s significance as a tourist destination while contributing to Malaysia’s long-term tourism goals.
Ms Jennifer Lau, the Partnerships Manager at Winning Moves emphasises that the Kuala Lumpur edition will not only be highlighting the city’s landmarks but also celebrates its unique identity and vibrant energy. She said, “We’re excited to work with local stakeholders to make this edition a true reflection of the city.”
