Invited guests with the attendees at sooka’s Gilerrr Streaming Challenge event
sooka solidified its standing as a major Malaysian entertainment platform with the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge, a successful on-ground event held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on November 29th. The spectacle gathered 273 participants for a full day of demanding multitasking challenges, all while continuously streaming sooka LIVE.
This high turnout earned sooka a Malaysia Book of Records title for the “Most Participants in a Streaming Multitasking Challenge,” a significant victory for the brand’s consumer engagement strategy.
The event was designed to celebrate the passionate, “gilerrr” enthusiasm Malaysians have for entertainment and sports. It proved that for sooka, streaming has evolved from an individual activity into “a shared cultural experience,” with the brand at the center of that movement.

Talent Showcase and High-Stakes Competition
The challenge featured sooka brand ambassadors Evertts Gomes, Aiman Ameer, Wani Kayrie, and Kimberly Chuah, who engaged directly with fans. Attendees enjoyed performances from various talents, including Dewi Remaja finalists, Jaguh Rakan Muda contestants, and artists like Uriah See and Khai Bahar.
Participants faced a series of tests requiring concentration and stamina without pausing their live streams. Trials included “sooka says,” a “pontianak” jump-scare distraction round, a freeze challenge, and a final task of balancing a drink can while viewing.
The grand prize winner drove away with a Proton e.MAS 5, while other top performers won high-value rewards, including an 85-inch Samsung QLED Smart TV, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and PlayStation 5 Pro.
Introducing sooka Shorts: A New Era of Content
Beyond the competition, the event served as the platform to strategically launch sooka Shorts, a new microdrama feature rolling out in December. This format caters to viewers who enjoy compact, emotionally engaging stories, positioning sooka at the forefront of Malaysia’s short-form drama segment.
Audiences got a sneak peek of titles launching from December 12th, such as Mandrem and Raja Fitnah. sooka also announced future plans for original Chinese microdramas and additional Korean titles. While selected episodes will be free, full access will be restricted to subscribers on the Entertainment plan and above.
The introduction of sooka Shorts expands the brand’s content architecture, boosting its appeal to mobile-first users and strengthening its position in the digital storytelling landscape. The event itself, supported by Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Vida, successfully united on-ground entertainment, fan culture, and new content innovation, showcasing sooka’s ambition in a rapidly evolving market.
