Selangor’s eco-tourism landscape is set for a major transformation with the development of Magika Studios, a 70-acre experiential destination at Mangrove Point. This strategic partnership between Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB), the master developer of the Selangor Maritime Gateway (SMG), and KRU Entertainment aims to blend environmental conservation with immersive storytelling and technology.
Situated within the Raja Lumu Forest Reserve, Magika Studios is designed as a next-generation attraction that integrates mangrove ecology with creative narratives. The project serves as a key component of Phase II of the SMG Master Plan (2024–2030), which focuses on high-impact development anchored in ESG principles. By restoring the river ecosystem, the initiative positions the Klang River as a catalyst for green economic activity and responsible tourism.

According to Syaiful Azmen Nordin, Managing Director of LLSB, the project represents a major milestone within the broader SMG vision. He said the development is designed to unlock economic potential through conservation-driven growth, while strengthening public engagement with environmental sustainability. By combining nature, innovation, and creative storytelling, Magika Studios is expected to elevate appreciation for river conservation while stimulating tourism and local economic activity across Selangor.
At the heart of the destination is a narrative approach using immersive light performances, animatronics, and audiovisual storytelling. Featuring characters inspired by local folklore, the park aims to communicate environmental messages in an accessible way. Highlights of the experience include:
- 1km Boardwalk: A guided tour through natural mangrove biodiversity and wildlife habitats.
- Immersive Forest: Interactive light installations and animatronic performances within the mangroves.
- Educational Exhibits: Displays designed to foster empathy toward local ecosystems and wildlife.
- Water Activities: River-based engagements to connect visitors with the Klang River environment.

Dato’ Norman Abdul Halim, President and CEO of KRU Entertainment, described the collaboration as an opportunity to translate cinematic storytelling into a physical format. The project adapts the award-winning Magika film universe into an edutainment environment, leveraging KRU’s digital technology and LLSB’s sustainability goals.
Magika Studios is located just 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur and is targeted to officially open in mid-2026. The project aligns with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, positioning the Klang River as a global symbol of sustainable urban transformation and green innovation.
