In a spectacular fusion of culture, elegance, and national pride, the MMK Organization has officially launched the Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) 2026 National Roadshow.

More than just a beauty pageant, this nationwide initiative is positioning itself as a cornerstone movement for cultural preservation, women’s empowerment, and talent development. Strategically aligned with the highly anticipated Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign, the roadshow aims to unite communities and showcase the country’s rich heritage on the global stage through the timeless elegance of the ‘Kebaya’.

The official launch was graced by Guest of Honor, Dr. Farizawati Sabri, Director of the Conservation Division at the Department of National Heritage, alongside industry leaders, cultural advocates, and corporate partners.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Farizawati Sabri praised the evolution of the platform, emphasizing that MMK has transcended traditional pageant boundaries.

“Miss Malaysia Kebaya has evolved into a vital national platform that integrates heritage preservation, cultural diplomacy, tourism promotion, and leadership training,” Dr. Farizawati noted. “Through its diverse initiatives, this program inspires Malaysians to embrace their roots while proudly showcasing our nation’s identity to the world.”

The roadshow will travel across the country, serving as a collaborative hub bringing together government agencies, tourism stakeholders, educational institutions, local entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

At its core, the initiative is deeply committed to grassroots talent development. The program offers mentorship, image enhancement, and real-world exposure to young women from all walks of life, equipping them to become confident leaders and official cultural ambassadors for Malaysia.

Dr. Jason Hee, Founder of Miss Malaysia Kebaya and President of the Malaysia Fashion, Modeling and Pageant Association (MFMPA), shared his vision for the initiative:

“Miss Malaysia Kebaya is a national movement. We believe heritage is not just about preserving the past, but inspiring the future. Through this roadshow, we are creating tangible opportunities for individuals to grow, lead, and become true ambassadors for culture, tourism, and community development.”

“Together,” Dr. Jason added, “we can contribute significantly to the success of Visit Malaysia 2026 and build a meaningful legacy for future generations.”

Beyond its cultural and social merits, the MMK 2026 National Roadshow is set to provide a substantial economic boost to the creative and hospitality sectors. By collaborating with local artisans, fashion designers, food entrepreneurs, shopping malls, and hospitality providers, the initiative creates a thriving ecosystem for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) nationwide.

To maximize the reach and impact of this landmark initiative, the MFMPA is actively welcoming further collaborations and partnerships from government agencies, Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), corporate partners, media organizations, and NGOs.
