The Franchise International Malaysia (FIM) 2026 has returned on a larger and more dynamic scale, gathering a significant number of local and international franchise brands while solidifying the position of Malaysia as the primary franchise hub within the ASEAN region.

Taking place from May 21 to May 23, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), FIM2026 targets an attendance of 25,000 visitors across the three-day event. The exhibition offers visitors various business activities, including seminars, business forums, exhibitions of local and international franchise brands, business matching sessions, franchise sharing sessions, and edutainment programs.

As the largest franchise exhibition platform in the country, FIM plays an important role in boosting the development of the national franchise industry. It provides a strategic platform for entrepreneurs, investors, future franchisees, and industry players to explore business opportunities, expand collaborative networks, and strengthen the competitiveness of local franchise brands domestically and internationally.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that the government remains committed to continually strengthening the development of the national franchise industry by supporting more local brands to penetrate international markets and compete on a global scale.

“Many Malaysian franchise brands have successfully expanded their operations to international markets, thereby proving the strength, quality, and innovation of local businesses. Brands like Global Art have now expanded to over 20 countries with more than 600 art centers, while Marrybrown has spread its wings to 16 countries with over 500 outlets. This achievement proves the global competitiveness and growing international influence of Malaysian franchise brands,” he said in a speech read by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, during the opening ceremony of FIM2026.

The opening ceremony also featured several other highlights, including the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) and the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), the launch of the MFA TVET program, and the presentation of graduation certificates to participants of the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program, a professional franchise training initiative.

FIM2026 showcases more than 100 local and international franchise brands spanning various sectors, including 20 potential franchise brands currently undergoing franchise development under Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas).

MFA Chairman Datuk Dr. Radzali Hassan noted that FIM2026 recorded a 10 percent increase in the participation of international brands compared to the previous year, with involvement from companies based in Spain, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, and China. According to him, this development reflects the confidence of the international community in the potential of Malaysia as a growth hub for the regional franchise industry.

The event also receives support from strategic partners, including US PIZZA, The Manhattan Fish Market, Momoyo, IBooze, Domino’s, Marrybrown, SMM Education Group, Kyochon Chicken, HOME Maths Therapy, Miramira, McDonald’s, Meiko, and Midyson.

FIM2026 is organized by the MFA in collaboration with KPDN and Pernas. The program is supported by various international agencies and strategic partners from ASEAN countries. FIM remains the only franchise exhibition in Malaysia officially recognized by the World Franchise Council (WFC), the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC), and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

Members of the public are invited to attend to explore the diverse franchise business opportunities tailored to their interests and preferences. For more information, visit the official website at www.myfim.my.
