The arrival of Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam, Governor of Melaka at the grand launch of Dusit Princess Melaka – marking a proud milestone in the city’s ongoing tourism transformation

Dusit International officially opened its first hotel in Malaysia, Dusit Princess Melaka, on May 29, 2025. Located in the heart of Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage City, the 296-room hotel combines Thai-inspired hospitality with the cultural richness of the local area.

The launch comes as Melaka’s tourism sector continues to surge. In 2024, the state recorded more than 15 million tourist arrivals, a 74% increase from the year before. With Visit Melaka Year extended through 2026, and Malaysia targeting 35.6 million international visitors for Visit Malaysia 2026, the hotel is well-positioned to support this growth.

The hotel offers views of the Straits of Melaka and the city skyline. It features Melaka’s deepest swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, and a variety of dining options that highlight both international and local flavors. Its 774-square-meter event space supports the city’s rising status in the MICE segment.

It also reflects the state’s growing appeal to international travelers and trusted global brands and aligns with our vision for responsible, inclusive, and high-value tourism growth. With its extensive lifestyle and business facilities and Thai-inspired gracious hospitality, the hotel is well positioned to enrich visitor experiences and support Melaka’s emergence as a regional leisure and MICE tourism center.”
