Sime Darby Property’s Elmina Lakeside Mall marked its first anniversary with a vibrant celebration, kicking off the festivities on 1 August 2025 with an exclusive Gala Night performance by the internationally acclaimed Swiss Dream Circus. Held under the Big Top, the evening featured world-class acts and a lively audience, including children from local welfare homes invited as special guests of honour.
Gracing the event was DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, whose presence added distinction to the occasion. The Gala Night not only celebrated a milestone for the mall but also highlighted Sime Darby Property’s commitment to community engagement, social inclusion, and accessible entertainment.
The Swiss Dream Circus returned to Malaysia with a new production titled Passion – The Greatest Show in Town, featuring a 14-member international troupe. Audiences were captivated by daring aerial performances, fast-paced stunts, and musical interludes during a 2.5-hour show. Notable acts included clown Misha of Cirque du Soleil fame, Cyr Wheel artist Bogdan, quick-change duo Tom & Jenny, and the high-energy roller-skating pair Diana and Maksim. Other performers included the dynamic aerialists Duo Liberty, violinist-singer Evgeniia, and horizontal juggler Emiliano Sanchez.

The Gala Night was more than just a showcase of talent; it also served as a meaningful gesture to underserved communities. Over 125 children and caretakers from several welfare homes, including Great Heart Charity Association and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Triniti, were invited to attend, many experiencing a live circus performance for the first time.
This special event marked the beginning of the Swiss Dream Circus’ public performance run at Elmina Lakeside Mall, which will feature 27 shows from 2 to 24 August 2025. Beyond the circus, the anniversary celebrations will continue into mid-September, transforming the mall into a hub of arts, culture, and family-friendly fun.

Highlights include the Monopoly Run, the finale of the Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival, hot air balloon rides, and a Merdeka Eve celebration featuring fireworks and a live concert by the Selangor Symphony Orchestra. These events reflect the mall’s broader role as a lifestyle and cultural destination for residents of the City of Elmina and beyond.
Since opening, Elmina Lakeside Mall has grown into a central gathering place, set against the scenic 35-acre Elmina Urban Park and tranquil lakeside. Its design and programming reflect Sime Darby Property’s ongoing efforts to blend retail, nature, and community under its urban biodiversity agenda.
