On May 2, 2024, Southeast Asia’s inaugural purpose-built township, KL Wellness City (KLWC), announced plans to establish its flagship tertiary hospital through KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd (KLIH). The initial phase of KLIH is expected to reach a development value of RM1 billion, aiming for completion in the second quarter of 2026 and opening in the subsequent quarter. During the event, Health Minister YB Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Dzulkefly Ahmad expressed congratulations to KLIH for the launch. He commended the investment in information and communications technology (ICT) and medical innovation, including robotics, aligning with the government’s vision for Malaysia to become a leading medical and healthcare hub.

Additionally, Dzulkefly expressed gratitude for KLIH’s RM2 million pledge to support medical treatment for the B40 community. This contribution enhances efforts to provide accessible healthcare to underprivileged communities, fostering health equity in Malaysia.
