In early January 2024, the office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Malaysia officially opened its doors. H.E. Dato’ Zulkifli Amin Mamat, appointed as the Honorary Consul on January 9, 2023, will lead the office.
The primary mission of this office is to enhance bilateral relations, communication, and trade between Malaysia and Serbia. It will also support the commercial interests of citizens and perform essential services such as issuing visas and renewing passports.
Serbia, officially formed on June 6, 2006, is a landlocked country in the west-central Balkans. For most of the 20th century, it was part of Yugoslavia. The country features diverse geography, with plains in the north and mountains in the central and southern regions. Serbia shares borders with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro.
