Festive celebrations happening at MyTOWN KL
MyTOWN Shopping Centre has officially kicked off its 2026 Chinese New Year campaign, themed “Rhythm of Reunion.” Running from January 29 through February 22, the celebration centers on the spirit of togetherness and tradition, offering visitors a blend of cultural performances, interactive installations, and high-value shopping rewards.
A standout feature of this year’s festivities is the “Two Stops, More Rewards” collaboration with IKEA. This joint initiative provides shoppers at both locations the chance to win daily prizes, with the total reward pool valued at RM50,000.
Mohd Azhan Che Mat, General Manager of MyTOWN Shopping Centre, noted that the partnership aims to deliver enhanced value to the community. He expressed hope that the campaign would foster meaningful connections for families and visitors throughout the festive season.
Nostalgic Hong Kong aesthetics take center stage at Central Town
The mall’s décor this year draws inspiration from classic Hong Kong teahouses, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for visitors. Key highlights include:
-
Reflective Lantern Room: A dedicated space for immersive visuals and photography.
-
Seasons & Smiles Photobooth: A professional-grade studio pop-up on the Ground Floor designed for high-quality family portraits.
-
Thematic Film: A brand film produced by Musang King Group is currently screening, highlighting the importance of family reconciliation and unity.
Expanded retail offerings and seasonal markets
The campaign coincides with the arrival of several major international and local tenants. Japanese furnishing giant NITORI and international kids’ label Balabala have recently opened their doors, alongside Malaysian brands Sometime, Bayu Somerset, and Bakar Thai Bowl. Shoppers can also expect upcoming openings from Siti Khadijah and Akemi.
For those seeking festive gifts, a seasonal marketplace features brands such as Jin Ye Ye, GPR Gold Butter Cookies, and Canton Boy.
Interactive workshops and traditional lion dances
The “Rhythm of Reunion” schedule is packed with cultural programming designed to engage all ages:
-
Live Performances: On February 7, a star-studded meet-and-greet will feature Steady Gang, Priscilla Abby, and Isaac Voo at Central Town.
-
Lion Dances: Traditional troupes will perform every weekend and public holiday at 3:00 PM. Additionally, specialized LED acrobatic lion dance shows are scheduled for the evenings of the first and second days of the Lunar New Year at Town Park.
