With the world dominated by global influences, A Piece of Malaysia (APOM), shines by celebrating the nation’s unique cultural identity. Known for its witty, Malaysia-inspired merchandise, the brand recently launched its #Empatbelas2024 collection in Kuala Lumpur. The event showcased a vibrant tribute to the cultural richness of Malaysia’s 14 states, bringing Malaysians together through art and national pride.

The #Empatbelas2024 campaign, now in its fourth edition, reimagined iconic film posters with a Malaysian twist, drawing inspiration from each state’s unique cultural elements. The result was a fresh, humorous take on global cinema infused with local flavor. Since 2011, the campaign has collaborated with over 50 local talents, giving them a platform for creative expression and state pride.

Held at the newly renovated Semua House, a cultural landmark in Kuala Lumpur, the exhibition runs from September 6 to October 6. Visitors can view the artwork, meet the artists, and purchase limited-edition prints and merchandise from the #Empatbelas2024 campaign, bringing home a piece of Malaysia’s heritage.

Chantelle Teoh, Co-Founder of APOM, shared her enthusiasm for the event, “The Empatbelas2024 campaign has been a journey of discovery, national pride, and creativity. We are proud to have created a platform for the local creatives from each state to showcase their talent. We are showing that patriotism can be vibrant, creative, and fresh.”

APOM’s #Empatbelas2024 art exhibition at Semua House, Kuala Lumpur, will run for one month, featuring a collection of creatively reimagined movie posters that represent the unique culture and identity of Malaysia’s 14 states.
