ASEAN Retail-Chains & Franchise Federation (ARFF) recently unveiled Malaysia’s 1st ASEAN retail & franchise official magazine, titled ‘RCEP Journal’ to over 300 retail & franchise industry guests at Avante Hotel, Petaling Jaya. ‘RCEP Journal’, officially launched by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development & Cooperative (MEDAC), YB Tan Sri Noh Haji Omar, would be a quarterly magazine centering on development of businesses particularly retail and franchise industry within ASEAN and 5 other countries within RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership). The RCEP grouping contributes to 30% of the global GDP and represents 30% of the global population.
As such, RCEP Journal aims:
- To be a media platform to represent a unified voice and promote current affairs and the latest solutions & challenges that affect all retailers and franchise outlets.
- To encourage, exchange and share information & best practices about the latest developments of retailers and franchise businesses.
- To raise the status and brand/product awareness of retailing & franchising for increased revenues & publicity.
The editorial team behind the RCEP Journal include Dato’ Mike Loh as the Publisher, Raymond Woo as the Deputy Publisher, Adam Ham as the Editor-in-Chief and Kevin Chong as the Deputy Editor.
Formally launched in 24 May 2008, the ARFF was established to trigger economic growth in the retail chain and franchise sectors while developing commercial opportunities throughout the entire ASEAN region and beyond. A multitude of members have joined ARFF over the years as it serves as a bridge for international cross-learning between entrepreneurs and successful industrial players.
ARFF, lead by President YBhg Dato’ Mike Loh stays true to its mission in expanding the reach of retail chains, franchises, tourism players, and related shopping industries within the 10 ASEAN countries and beyond. It is ARFF’s desire to utilise the collective strength of all the countries in the ASEAN region to enable ASEAN to be the “cream of the crop” for business opportunities.
In the mean time, YB Tan Sri Noh Haji Omar also witnessed the official installation of the ARFF 2022 – 2024 council members, accompanied by Ambassadors, High Commissioners and representatives from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
