Although the Covid-19 pandemic has terribly affected the Music industry because of the restriction of any live performances or concerts, Universal Music Malaysia remains active in producing new songs for upcoming talents and is proof that the creative industry continues to strive. Universal Music Malaysia held a virtual conference and a mini concert preview for rising stars – Azmi Saat, Eemrun, Asyraf Nasir, Siqma & FML, and Nuha Bahrun.
Universal Music Malaysia (Domestic) Marketing Manager, Anne Mukhtar mentioned that this familiarization event was held to reintroduce these artists’ singles that was released virtually last year and earlier this year while providing the opportunity for these singers to display their talents and personality to the public.
“This is the first appearance for these new artists, with the media. Through this event, not only does Universal Music Malaysia wish to introduce these artist’s singles, but also to allow the media to have a closer look and better understand the unique talents that they possess,” Anne Mukhtar said.
The artists performed their singles gracefully, and easily grabbed the attention at the media screening. Azmi Saat, who happens to be visually challenged, performed his song “TULUS”, Nuha Bahrun sang “XSEMPURNA”, Eemrun performed “EMOSI”, Asyraf Nasir introduced “KELIRU”, whereas Siqma &FML sung “DIPINGGIRKAN”. All these songs were written based on something that happened in their lives or experiences that they have had. The songs were performed beautifully, and the message was delivered clearly through their performances, captivating the true talents of these rising stars.
