The Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) Kuala Lumpur & Selangor State Liaison recently hosted the 2025 New Year Charity Dinner at the Grand Ballroom in Fairy Park Heritage City, attended by 1,000 guests. The event aimed to raise awareness for heart health and support the placement of 20 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public areas in partnership with Sunway Medical Center. These AEDs will help improve emergency preparedness in the community.

YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, Selangor’s State Executive Council member for Investment, Trade, and Mobility, highlighted the importance of ESG (environment, society, and governance) principles for businesses, stating, “Adopting ESG and leveraging technologies like AI isn’t just about compliance; it’s about creating a sustainable and innovative future.”

PUMM President, Dato Dr Teh Tai Yong, stressed the critical role AEDs play in saving lives and emphasized the need for businesses to focus on digital transformation, green technology, and high-end manufacturing to meet ESG goals.

Organizing Chairman, Mr. Shion Lee, thanked attendees, sponsors, and partners for their support, emphasizing that the event was about more than just fundraising—it was also focused on educating the public about heart health and first-aid training.

PUMM Kuala Lumpur & Selangor State Liaison Chairman, Mr. Eddie Ho, summarized the event as a unifying effort to improve public health, stating, “The AEDs will save lives, but the awareness we’re building will have an even greater impact.”

The 2025 New Year Charity Dinner successfully brought together key stakeholders in business, healthcare, and government to support a meaningful cause. Through this collaborative effort, PUMM demonstrated its commitment to improving public health and advancing social responsibility.
