Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail were present during the Movie Premier of Anwar – The Untold Story on Monday. His arrival at Dadi Cinemas, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur was welcomed with chants of “Reformasi” and “Hidup Datuk Seri” as he made his way to the movie hall.
Viva Westi, an Indonesian film director, directed the long-awaited RM10mil budget biopic which told the story of Anwar Ibrahim’s hardships as a politician battling corruption cases that led to his time served in prison. Malaysian film star – Farid Kamil Zahari played the role of Anwar Ibrahim alongside Indonesian film star, Acha Septriasa, as Dr Wan Azizah.

In addition to over 258 VIPs consisting of local entertainment industry players, and politicians, Malaysia’s very own number-one celebrity songstress, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, serenaded the audience with the song, ‘Menjaga Cintamu,’ from the official soundtrack of the film.
Prepare to be touched by the perseverance, blood, sweat, and tears of Malaysia’s very own Anwar Ibrahim in the upcoming film – Anwar, The Untold Story set to premiere in all cinemas across the country starting 18 May 2023 (Thursday).
