Senior Minister (Security Cluster) YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob does a Loh Sang prosperity toss with ASEAN Retail-Chains Franchise Federation (ARFF) to commemorate good health and success to all businesses in the year of the Ox and reminds Malaysians of the importance of embracing our traditions in a safe and controlled manner during this pandemic.

The SME Association of MalaysiaMalaysian Association of Amusement Theme Park & Family Attractions (MAATFA), Malaysia China Business Council (MCBC), and online food delivery platform, Tapaulah – also came together to perform this ancient cultural practice.

With the recent reopening of the retail sector, businesses are slowly getting back on track and are operating while adhering to strict SOPs in their dedication to curbing the pandemic, and more importantly, to ensure the safety of consumers. Senior Minister (Security Cluster) YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob reminds Malaysians that although we are recovering from the battle against Covid-19, the fight isn’t over. He encourages us to practice social distancing as we keep to our cultures and traditions during this Chinese New Year.

YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri said, “Chinese New Year this year is different from other years because the Government is obligated to enforce strict conditions to ensure the safety of the rakyat and that has led to the restrictions of big celebrations. I hope that the Chinese community in Malaysia are able to celebrate Chinese New Year blissfully although it might not be as grand as other years. The most important thing is that we are in good health, and we have a lot more time to celebrate Chinese New Year grandly next year; and with that, I wish everyone Gong Xi Fa Cai Xin Nian Kuai Le.”
