The Australian-owned global coffee company, Gloria Jean’s Coffees (GJC), was established in Malaysia in 1999 through the acquisition of the Master Franchise Partner rights by Wonderful Lifestyle Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Malaysia International Franchise Sdn Bhd (Myfranchise), a business branch under Perbadanan Nasional (PNS). Since then, they have launched four (4) corporate-owned cafes and 38 franchisee-owned, with the 44th branch located in the Selangor State Secretary’s Office (SUK), officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor.

“I am proud to learn that GJC is the only gourmet coffee cafe chain brand in Malaysia that offers a franchise system, which encourages more coffeepreneurs to venture into this field. Through this international franchise ownership, potential entrepreneurs can increase their knowledge of the franchise system in our country,” said YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor.

Since 1999, the cafes were introduced with a dark brown interior design but are now undergoing a make-over in stages to ensure their 38 franchise partners are in the best position to launch the new look and image. In addition to that, GJC has also launched a new menu to celebrate the arrival of Ramadan this year. The new additions to their menu include the Sweet Purple Potato Chunky drink, Sweet Purple Potato Latte, Buttermilk Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken Rice, Pesto Aglio Grilled Chicken, and Fusilli Alfredo.
