Superbrands Malaysia 2024 celebrates its 16th edition and has selected a record 45 brands to pay tribute to the strongest and most valuable brands in the market for this year’s awards event. 2024 has seen an unprecedented number of local brands making it to the Superbrands list with new entrants in the market in addition to internationally recognized brands.
The awards were presented in a glittering gala evening by the guest of honor, Datuk P. Kamalanathan, Chairman of the Public Relations Practitioners Society of Malaysia and former Deputy Education Minister, as well as VIP online personality Auntie Purple, who started as a lifestyle video content creator and since established herself further with a self biography, own range of perfumes plus as a role model for women being featured on TV programs and nominated Creator of the Year on Tiktok Awards and Astro Gempak Most Wanted 2023.
Datuk Kamalanathan, in congratulating the winners said: “Branding is akin to finding the right positioning inside the consumer’s mind and going for it before someone else does so. And so bear in mind that products are made in a factory, but brands are created in the mind. And you are here today because that is what you have achieved! In our own country, Malaysian-made products have been growing from strength to strength to the extent that many local brands have created their positive reputation. Through their efforts, they have proven that they too deserve to stand among equals or have become even more superior options than the older and traditional brands.”
Mike English said: “Tonight, we recognize the hard work, passion, and determination that got you here. But we also celebrate the people—the leaders, the teams, and the communities—who are the heart and soul of every brand. You have embraced challenges, faced competition, and stayed true to your mission. That perseverance is what makes you Superbrands.I hope this evening serves as a reminder of the impact your work has on the world. May it inspire you to continue pushing the boundaries of excellence, to remain true to the values that got you here, and to keep leading by example for generations to come.”
Brands participating in the Superbrands program are entitled to use the Superbrands logo on their advertising, packaging, and other marketing communications collaterals. The brand’s story is also featured in the Superbrands reference book and on the Superbrands website
