The BrandLaureate Entrepreneur Awards 2023 celebrated the achievements of remarkable entrepreneurs who showcased exceptional leadership and enterprising spirit on 19 September at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Numerous business organizations came together to celebrate the entrepreneurs who paved the way for future Malaysians who wish to become an entrepreneur and succeed in the field they choose. The program aims to honor those who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and leadership in their respective industries.
The BrandLaureate Entrepreneur Awards 2023 awarded multiple businesspeople who have achieved successes in their respective industries. One of the major highlights of the evening included Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin who received The Women Entrepreneur of the Year award for her entrepreneurial leadership with SimplySiti, of which she is the president and founder. “At The BrandLaureate Entrepreneur Awards 2023, we celebrate entrepreneurs who have mastered the art of branding, distinguishing themselves from their peers. Another noteworthy winner was Adam Ham, the chief executive officer of Global Creative and Media Agency, a premier local agency that deals with public relations, film and TV programs, licensing and merchandising. The BrandLaureate awarded Ham with the Visionary Entrepreneur in Public Relations & Media of the Year award for his unwavering dedication, remarkable expertise, and innovative approach that has left an indelible mark on the growth and development of his organization.
As a specialist in the entertainment industry, Ham has had more than 20 years of experience, the highlight of which includes his tenure on the board of directors at the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) where he was involved with promoting and supporting talents and producers in developing local contents such as feature films, animation, documentaries and music. Ham has been credited with promoting local film intellectual properties (IPs), such as ‘Upin & Ipin’, ‘BoBoiBoy’, ‘Lagenda Budak Setan’, and several more. He has also been involved with the promotion of IPs from the music industry by Sheila Amzah, Diana Danielle, Bunk Face, etc. In terms of international IPs, he has been involved in promotional roles for Ultraman, Sesame Street, The Mandalorian, and many others.
“I am currently working on a new reality talent search program called ‘Duta Jenama’ that will be the first to be shown on TikTok, and we are also looking at showing it on other multi-channel platforms as well, including Netflix,” said Ham, giving a snippet of the latest project in his pipeline when interviewed after receiving his award. “I believe in giving fair opportunities to everyone regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, age or even marital status, basically a platform free from any form of bias and discrimination. So, this will be a chance for me to put the spotlight on the many talents within my extensive network of key opinion leaders and celebrities to showcase themselves and stand a chance to become Malaysia’s next top ambassador with renowned brands,” he added.
The BrandLaureate Entrepreneur Awards 2023 was held at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Co-operatives, Senator Saraswathy Kandasami. Among those in attendance include business luminaries such as Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, chief executive officer of Capital A, and Dato’ Sri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, chairman of SimplySiti.
