Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), together with the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation, raised RM400,000 under its CSR campaign – ‘Sungai Buloh Hospital Relief Fund’. The funds raised are used to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and medical supplies to frontliners that will be handling Covid-19 patients at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
It is a collaborative effort among the MRCA members, the foundation, and past presidents that drove this campaign and made the sizable donation possible. MRCA Members – Top Glove, Healthy World Lifestyle (Brand Ogawa), Visionary Solutions (Brand Blueair) donated a total of RM300,000 in PPEs, massage chairs, air purifiers, sanitisers and other medical supplies; whereas the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation and the Honorary Past Presidents have donated RM100,000 worth of PPEs collectively .
As MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation continues to provide financial assistance and relief to the underprivileged, MRCA claims that they have initiated several other new charity projects, one of which is the ‘A Good Deed A Week’ campaign, initiated by Madam President Ms. Shirley Tay. Since its initiation in February, MRCA members have distributed food and drinks to frontliners, and also fresh produce to orphanages and old folks’ homes.
