Minister of Digital, Gobind Singh Deo (centre) officiated the launch of GET – Global Easy Transfer, a first-in-Malaysia collaboration between MBSB Bank and WISE Platform, accompanied by (from left to right) Usman Ghouse, Group Chief Consumer Banking Officer of MBSB Bank, Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman Wan Ahmad, MBSB Berhad Chairman, Samarth Bansal, APAC General Manager at Wise Platform, and Rafe Haneef, Group Chief Executive Officer of MBSB Bank.

MBSB Bank Berhad has introduced Global Easy Transfer (GET), a new international remittance service developed in partnership with Wise Platform, making MBSB Bank the first in Malaysia to collaborate with the global cross-border payments technology company.

The service, available on the M Journey retail banking app, is designed to simplify how Malaysians send money abroad. At launch, customers can remit funds in 12 currencies including USD, GBP, EUR, SGD, IDR and AUD — with real-time tracking, competitive exchange rates, and no hidden fees.

“With GET – Global Easy Transfer, we are giving families, professionals and business owners the confidence to send money abroad knowing exactly how much will arrive and when. This is what customer-first innovation looks like,” said Rafe Haneef, Group Chief Executive Officer of MBSB Bank.

Transfers can be instant or same-day depending on the destination, with visibility from start to finish. For many Malaysian households, this represents a practical upgrade to an essential service. More than 55,000 Malaysians are currently studying abroad, and GET enables families to manage tuition, living expenses and emergencies with greater speed and clarity.

“Remitting money should not be ambiguous. GET – Global Easy Transfer was designed to address the real frustrations we have heard from customers—extensive delays, hidden charges, and poor transparency. This partnership with Wise Platform is about offering world-class capability with local accountability,” said Usman Ghouse, Group Chief Consumer Banking Officer of MBSB Bank.

For Wise, the partnership represents a breakthrough in Malaysia. “This partnership with MBSB Bank represents a significant milestone for Wise Platform – our first collaboration in Malaysia, enabling at least 22 million individuals in Malaysia to send money in a fast, secure, transparent and convenient way. With local payments in Malaysia and other parts of Asia Pacific being instant, customers now expect the same from cross-border transfers. We are excited to partner with MBSB to redefine cross-border payments and make international transfers as fast and convenient as domestic ones. MBSB Bank’s commitment to customer-first innovation aligns perfectly with our mission, and together we’re setting a new standard for cross-border payments in Malaysian banking,” said Samarth Bansal, APAC General Manager at Wise Platform.

Key features of GET include real-time tracking, upfront pricing transparency, instant or same-day transfers, and high daily transfer limits of up to RM100,000. During the introductory campaign, transfer fees are waived.

The collaboration also reflects MBSB Bank’s transformation into a modern, digital-first Islamic bank — offering solutions that are practical, inclusive, and aligned with the way Malaysians connect globally. New customers can start enjoying GET by opening an account with MBSB Bank easily via www.mbsbbank.com and begin sending money abroad instantly with competitive rates and real-time tracking.
