Tourism Selangor has taken proactive steps with its Tourism Malaysia’s Domestic Tourism division to continue promotional activities for the tourism industry in Selangor during the new normal. They have resorted to relying on the webinar session – “Nak Bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu” to replace physical programs and promotional activities such as tourism exhibitions, roadshows, and tourism product tours that were previously scheduled to take place. These webinars are held on Zoom and will take place in several sessions throughout the year 2021.
The first series of the webinar involved a total of 15 participants including tourism officers from the domestic division of Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Malaysia Southern Region Office, and tourism agency activists from the States of Johor and Melaka. It was conducted in the format of presentations and briefings on tourism products, ‘Business to Business (B2B)’ sessions, with interesting side activities such as tourism promotion videos and lucky draws.
Tuan Azrul Shah Mohamad, General Manager of Tourism Selangor, said, “In response to the call from MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia for us to boost the domestic tourism sector, Tourism Selangor will continue to intensify the implementation of the “Nak Bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu” throughout 2021 and beyond. Various promotional programs have been planned throughout the year with an emphasis on digital and online marketing methods such as social media campaigns, influencer marketing, Virtual Reality (VR) video production, aerial view and so on.”
The “Nak Bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu” campaign is vital to reigniting the tourism industry in the state of Selangor and it is a mission that requires the involvement of various parties including the State Government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), the private sector, and also tourism industry players to ensure the success of the Campaign.
