The new HUAWEI WATCH 5
HUAWEI Consumer Business Group (CBG) has officially unveiled the HUAWEI WATCH 5, the latest evolution of its flagship smartwatch series. Marking nearly a decade since the debut of the original WATCH Series in 2015, the new HUAWEI WATCH 5 continues the brand’s legacy of combining futuristic design with next-generation wearable technology.
Available in two sizes—42mm and 46mm—the HUAWEI WATCH 5 features a refined case design inspired by the Kármán Line, the symbolic boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and outer space. Constructed from high-grade materials such as 904L stainless steel and aerospace-grade silver, the timepieces offer a blend of durability, precision, and elegance. Design variants include Sand Gold and Beige for the 42mm model, and a bold Purple edition for the 46mm, with options in minimalist 316L stainless steel for a clean, versatile aesthetic.
The smartwatches are fitted with spherical sapphire glass and offered with strap choices in titanium, fluoroelastomer, and advanced composite materials that mimic leather while being odor-free, waterproof, and stain-resistant. High-tech leather options come in denim (beige) and silk (purple) textures for added style versatility.

At the core of the HUAWEI WATCH 5 is the proprietary Multi-sensing X-TAP technology—an industry-first that combines ECG, PPG, and tactile sensors to deliver more precise fingertip health monitoring. Users can activate Health Glance by simply holding the X-TAP sensor for three seconds, accessing a comprehensive health report with 10 key metrics, including HRV, emotional wellbeing, and SpO₂, all delivered in under a minute.
Fingertip SpO₂ monitoring is another standout feature, leveraging the high vascularity and thinner skin of the finger for enhanced accuracy. With results delivered in less than 10 seconds, the sensor marks a significant leap in wearable health diagnostics.
Gesture controls further simplify the user experience. New Double Tap and Double Slide functionalities allow users to manage calls, control music, and even operate their smartphone cameras, no touchscreen needed. These gestures also support select third-party social app voice calls, making the WATCH 5 a hands-free companion in more scenarios.

The smartwatch also features eSIM support, enabling full connectivity even when away from a phone. A dual-mode battery system offers up to 4.5 days of usage on the 46mm model (3 days for 42mm) in Standard Mode, with Battery Saver Mode extending those numbers to 11 and 7 days, respectively.
Retailing from RM1,799, the HUAWEI WATCH 5 is now available for pre-order via the HUAWEI Experience Stores, Official Website, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Pre-orders with a RM50 deposit qualify for a rebate of up to RM70 and receive exclusive rewards, including FreeBuds 5, a three-month Health+ subscription, and gifts valued at up to RM746.
