Event Launch with Uzbekistan Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Ravshan Usmanov
YAM Paduka Puteri Tunku Muna Najiah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and the Uzbekistan Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Ravshan Usmanov recently launched the Uzbekistan Showroom at the Panther Car Showroom on Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Since its launch hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia and The Alpha Group, there has been a tremendous amount of investor interest in Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan was called the World’s Second Fastest Growing Economy in 2017 by the World Bank’s Global Economic Prospects with the opportunities it has created in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, automotive, hi-tech, textile and education in the last five years. Despite the pandemic, Uzbekistan has transformed the ancient trade routes of the Great Silk Road and positioned the country for further heights through its dynamic Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 that will continue the development of the national economy, ensuring growth rates are maintained.

“Malaysia is a long-term and reliable friend of Uzbekistan, as we are connected by centuries-old trade and cultural ties, friendship and spiritual closeness,” said the 2 Uzbekistan Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Ravshan Usmanov, in his speech at the launch of the Uzbekistan Showroom. Also present at the event was the CEO of Alpha Group, Dalia Alkatiri and Farkhod Ergashev, the Trade and Economic Counsellor at the Uzbekistan Embassy in Malaysia.

With the similarities between Malaysia and Uzbekistan when it comes to Islamic traditions and way of life, Malaysian investors were captivated by Halal products and services from Uzbekistan. “We firmly believe that Malaysia can further enhance its role and act as a catalyst to penetrate the South East Asian market with Uzbekistan products,” said CEO of Alpha Group, Dalia Alkatiri in her opening remarks at the launch of the Uzbekistan Showroom.
“The Uzbekistan Showroom will serve as an engine for further development of bilateral trade, which is in the best interest of the prosperity of the two nations.”
