This Lunar New Year, Sungei Wang Plaza proudly presents its Chinese New Year campaign, “Sungei Wang Fortune Town,” a celebration blending Chinese heritage with modern creativity. From 10th January to 12th February 2025, shoppers are invited to experience the vibrant charm of a retro 90s town, brought to life in collaboration with MINDFREAKXX and the iconic Old Master Q (老夫子), alongside official Radio Station, GOXUAN, Official TV, 8TV, and sponsored by Magnum.
The mall transforms into a retro 90s Town, where comic-style illustrations and iconic elements transport visitors to the golden era of Old Master Q. The pathway transformed into enchanting aesthetics of classic Hong Kong neighborhoods, offering a delightful nostalgic experience. Among the highlights are Freakxxtiam and Freakxxmart, quirky spaces styled like 90s tailor shops and showcasing MINDFREAKXX’s latest fashion collection. Festive specials are available at the Chinese New Year Marketplace featuring traditional cookies, Chinese brew-crafted tea, cultural costumes, festive decorations, and snacks.
Sungei Wang X Mindfreakxx to bring the nostalgia of Master Q back for this Chinese New Year

You can spot familiar characters in Master Q’s humorous figures, transformed into street illustrations, sharing those nostalgic moments. Starting with a meet & greet with BTV hosts on 18th January 2025, a star-studded day on 19th January 2025, featuring Queenie Then, AiFM Announcers, the dynamic duo Nick & Stella, and GOXUAN Radio Station Announcers. Lastly, Crystal Ong’s CNY Meet & Greet on 11th February 2025. Visitors are welcome to spectate the Little Stars Singing Competition and the Golden Voices Singing Competition as they fill the mall with melodies of the festive season. This Chinese New Year, Sungei Wang Plaza is bringing festive joy and warmth to the elderly at Pertubuhan Kasih Sayang Alam Damai. In a heartfelt gesture, the team will help improve their living conditions through haircuts, wall painting, and essential home repairs, creating a more comfortable and cheerful environment. The celebration will include a lion dance, a visit from the God of Prosperity,and the tradition of Yee Sang tossing, filling the space with joy and laughter.
