MEBA 2021 PROVES MALAYSIA IS FILLED WITH INNOVATIVE COMPANIES

The sixth Malaysia Excellence Business Awards organized by Malaysia Digital Chamber of Commerce (MDCC) and supported by Asia Pacific Business Council for Sustainability and Perdasama Putrajaya, awarded 42 Malaysian Entrepreneurs who powered through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while achieving outstanding achievements in the respective industry. In order to maintain in the world of digital innovation, one must not rely on just technology and processes in order to create results-driven culture. Hence, Malaysia Excellence Business Awards 2021 (MEBA 2021), focuses on the winners who demonstrate business innovation and are driven by people & culture.

At the award ceremony, recipients of MEBA prevailed during the 18 months of hiatus as they generate promising results to conquer the new norm. Digital tools and platforms have been popularized which allows people to start working, collaborating, shopping, and learning at home. “Businesses in the New Normal – Leveraging the Volatile World”, has been introduced as the theme of the event where it consists of experts shedding light on research and issues that shape their businesses. The award aims to give recognition to innovative businesses who strive to be unique than the others in a nick of time.

Guest of honor, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs said, ”It was certainly challenging and uncertain in 2020, globally for almost all, for some businesses, near-term survival was and almost became the only agenda item. Others were bracing hard through the fog of uncertainty, thinking about how to position themselves. I commend this awards program as it recognizes and supports brilliant business innovators tackling the planet’s biggest current business, environmental and social challenges and to help them achieve scale for impact.”

Especially in the MEBA 2021 Special Edition, it highlighted industry players from both regional and global markets who excel in the niche zone while demonstrating resilience om order to volatile grounds by excelling in leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.

Among the panel of Judges are YM Tengku Dato Dr Hishamuddin Zaizi bin YAM Tengku Azman Shah Al-Haj, Royal Family Member of Selangor and Kelantan; Kolonel (K) Tan Sri Datuk Wira Dr Hj Mohd Shukor Hj Mahfar, Chairman of the University Board of Directors; UUM, Abu Bakar Koyakutty, Senior Director of MATRADE; and Chris Daniel Wong, President of MDCC. Among the companies that received awards were JW Sab & Partners, CIMB Foundation, Hong Leong MSIG Takaful, Institute Jantung Negara, Censof Holdings Berhad, and many more.
