Mediafoundry Sdn. Bhd. announced that they have won three international awards for their short animation film, ‘The Little Mak Yong Dancer.’ The short animation film was conferred the Best Animation Short Film awards by the Europe Film Festival, King’s Cross Film Awards, and Best Istanbul Film Festival.

The storyline embraced the theme of broken dreams that shaped the next generation while revealing the beauty, grace, and art of Mak Yong as well as bringing up the subject of transgenerational cultural inheritance, societal biases, and antagonism that contributed to the decline of traditional art forms.

On top of that, The Little Mak Yong Dancer is also regarded as the “Official Selection” for Festival del Cinema di Cefalù, Rome Prisma Film Awards, One Earth Awards, and the New York Flash Film Festival.

“We are delighted to share the beauty of Mak Yong with global audiences while telling a touching and compelling story about hope and broken dreams and it is an honor to be recognized by international festivals. I would like to thank KKMM and MDEC for supporting filmmakers like us to tell our stories” said Rashdan Ramlee, director of the short film.
