Getha, long regarded as Malaysia’s leading authority in premium bedding, reaffirmed its international standing after securing a major win at the 2025–2026 World Branding Awards here today. The Malaysian brand was recognised as Brand of the Year in the Furniture, Mattresses and Bedding category. The recognition is especially meaningful for Getha as it marks the tenth time since 2015 that the company has taken home this honour, further strengthening its role in bringing Malaysia to the world through world-class Malaysian rubber products and branding excellence.
Founded in 1969, Getha has built its identity on Malaysia’s heritage in natural latex. Its name comes from the Malay word for latex, “getah”, a reminder of the country’s long history in rubber production, as well as an ode to the spirit of nationalism embedded within the company. Getha remains best known for its 100 percent natural latex bedding, and today its products are exported to more than 30 countries as it continues to elevate Malaysian-made rubber innovations onto the international stage.
The company sources latex from approximately 120 million rubber trees. Annually, it produces up to 121,000 mattresses. More than 300 employees support its operations, including long-serving staff who have been part of Getha for over four decades. As a leader in sleep innovation, Getha is also set to release its new groundbreaking product by the end of 2025 — with sources citing that the materials used have undergone nearly a decade of research and development at the company’s state-of-the-art factory, hinting at the next evolution of Malaysia’s premium latex craftsmanship.

Speaking in Osaka on 13th of November 2025, Getha’s Executive Director Yong Mei Tsin said the award is a reminder of how far the brand has come. “We started as a small Malaysian company working with natural latex, and to stand here today among global names is something we don’t take lightly,” she said. “This recognition belongs to our team, especially those who have been with us for decades. It motivates us to keep refining our craft and to push Malaysian-made products even further onto the world stage.”
She added that the company’s focus on natural materials remains central to its identity. “People are more conscious about what goes into the products they use every day. That’s why we continue to champion natural latex and sustainable production. It’s not just a selling point for us, it’s who we are,” she continued. Yong was accompanied by Project Director Kevin Tan, who took the stage with her as they accepted the award on behalf of Getha.
The 20th edition of the World Branding Awards, held at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, Japan, which marks the first time the ceremony was held outside of London, involved a detailed evaluation of more than 1,000 brands from 66 countries, with fewer than 100 emerging as winners. Organised by the World Branding Forum, a non-profit based in the United Kingdom, the awards recognise brands that have become trusted household names in their home countries through a rigorous process combining independent consumer research, market studies, brand valuation, and public online voting, making it one of the most comprehensive assessments of global brand strength.
Among the 2025–2026 winners this year were distinguished names such as Bangkok Bank (Thailand), IKEA (Sweden), Nike (USA), Kopi Kenangan (Indonesia), Sennheiser (Germany), Lurpak (Denmark), Yakult (Japan), and leading Malaysian brands including MR.DIY, Farm Fresh, Maybank, Tenaga Nasional, Zus Coffee, Farm Fresh and Watsons thus placing Getha in the company of some of the world’s most influential and iconic consumer brands.

Past winners range from global icons such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Spotify, and BYD, to Malaysian brands like Petronas and AirAsia.
