Toyota Vios HEV GR Sport
Toyota has officially launched the hybrid version of the Vios in Malaysia, introducing both the base Vios HEV and a performance-oriented GR Sport variant. The local release confirms that the model remains largely consistent with the Yaris Ativ seen in the Thai market, though the base model in Malaysia omits the “Premium” tag used up north.
The hybrid model maintains the familiar “Power Design” theme and fastback silhouette of the Vios 1.5G. Inside, the cabin receives a notable upgrade with the infotainment display upsized to a 10.1-inch screen, which supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Drivers are also greeted by a 7-inch digital instrument panel, though notably, it does not include a tachometer.
The Vios HEV is offered exclusively with black leather upholstery. While it shares many standard features with the 1.5G—including a 4K Front Digital Video Recorder, Smart Entry, and three USB ports—the hybrid variant enhances the interior atmosphere with 64-color ambient lighting extending across the door trims and instrument panel.

Toyota Vios Hybrid Electric
Under the hood, the Vios HEV combines a 1.5L Dual VVT-i engine with an electric motor and a 4.3 Ahr lithium-ion battery. This powertrain produces a total output of 111 PS, marking a 5% performance increase over the standard petrol model.
For those seeking a more spirited drive, the Vios HEV GR Sport offers specialized tuning for the suspension and electric power steering. Visually, the GR Sport stands out with a dedicated body kit and larger 17-inch rims.
The Toyota Vios HEV is priced starting from RM103,900 in Peninsular Malaysia, while the GR Sport variant is positioned at RM109,900. The base hybrid is available in five colors, including Celestite Grey Metallic and Spicy Scarlet, whereas the GR Sport is limited to three colors with optional two-tone finishes for the Platinum White Pearl and Spicy Scarlet shades.
