The esteemed guests of the afternoon pose for a group photo to commemorate the official launch of ReGen Rehab Hospital’s Community Outreach Initiative for Robotic Rehabilitation.

Malaysia’s first private rehabilitation hospital licensed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia – ReGen Rehab Hospital has taken the lead to provide specialized rehabilitation treatment for patients and individuals who are recovering from neurological conditions, including stroke and spinal cord injury. The hospital has implemented its  Community Outreach Initiative in conjunction with the launch of its Robotic Rehabilitation program.

YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, Parliament Member of Bandar Tun Razak officiated the ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.  The initiative aims to provide the public with greater availability and accessibility to structured and tailored rehabilitation interventions to enhance independent mobility and improve the overall health of individuals with a history of stroke, spinal cord injury, or any other neurological conditions.

YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak, speaks to a patient undergoing lower limb exoskeleton treatment while on an exclusive tour of the facilities at ReGen Rehab Hospital.

Hanafi Salehuddin, Chief Executive Officer of ReGen Rehab said, “At ReGen Rehab, we take pride in providing our patients with a level of care and support that prioritizes their needs and recovery goals. Integrating Robotic Rehabilitation into our existing neurological rehabilitation program, it allows us to continue to push the boundaries in recovery outcomes, as we support patients in regaining their confidence and quality of life. I am proud of the talented team here at ReGen Rehab, as we actively stay committed towards restoring mobility for our patients.”

There are currently two streams under the Robotic Rehabilitation program, the first one being an exoskeleton device targeted for lower limb rehabilitation made up of a complex range of parameter settings to suit patients’ walking abilities, allowing patients to promptly get back to their natural walking pattern.

One for the album – Ms Chelvi Muniandy, Director of Therapy at ReGen Rehab Hospital, Dato’ Dr. Zaininah Mohd Zain, Director of ReGen Rehab Hospital, YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak, and Datin Dr. Lydia Abdul Latif, Chief Medical Officer and Consultant Rehabilitation Physician of ReGen Rehab Hospital, with the therapy team of ReGen Rehab Hospital.

The second one is the Hand Hub program – a set of three robotic devices designed for upper limb rehabilitation. The program aims to stimulate muscle activation, promote functional task training, and provide strengthening through an interactive gamification experience. The hand hub program can be used for patients with various needs and capabilities.

The debut of ReGen Rehab’s Robotic Rehabilitation program is an advancement within the Malaysian medical field, as it provides services typically harder to achieve through traditional therapy methods. With the implementation of precise, targeted, and repetitive exercises, patients with a history of stroke, spinal cord injury, or any neurological condition will be able to improve the overall vigor and vitality of their upper and lower limbs, ultimately benefiting from expedited mobility recovery.
