The celebration of Malaysia’s 66th year of independence continues at Alamanda Shopping Centre and people are called out to come to liven up the campaign. Running from 25 August to 16 September 2023.
One of the highlighted activities is Merdeka Redemptions whereby shoppers who spend RM500 in a maximum of two receipts at any specialty store will receive a limited edition 66th Merdeka T-shirt. This offer is limited to one redemption per shopper, per day.
For high spenders who spend more than RM1,500 in two receipts at specialty stores, an additional RM50 Alamanda shopping voucher awaits, on top of the limited edition T-shirt. This reward is limited to the first 350 shoppers who meet this spending threshold. To enhance the patriotic spirit on Merdeka Day, the first 1,000 shoppers on 31 August will receive a Jalur Gemilang handheld flag.
VIKids Merdeka Funtime
Younger visitors of Alamanda Shopping Centre have the opportunity to enjoy the ‘VIKids Merdeka Funtime’ campaign, running from 25 August to 3 September. The mall’s center court is transformed into a larger-than-life setup of traditional games, providing a nostalgic trip down memory lane for adults and an exciting playground for young ones.
VIKids will receive a complimentary Merdeka Funtime pack while stocks last, which includes Art & Craft, Snake game, and Rainbow Magic. Youngsters will stand a chance to participate in familiar traditional childhood games like Snake & Ladders, Congkak, Checkers, Pick-Up Sticks, and Ting-Ting. Prizes for grab include art sets, soft toys, water bottles, lunch boxes, Yoyos, Batu Seremban, and Draughts games.
VIKids aged six to 12 years old can also take part in contests organized on weekends and Merdeka Day which are Traditional Malaysian Costume and Malaysian Patriotic Songs Singing Contest on 31 August, offering shopping vouchers worth RM300, RM200, and RM100 as prizes. Additionally, a Merdeka-themed coloring contest with two age categories – Junior and Senior – will take place on weekends, with shopping vouchers worth RM150, RM100, and RM50 as prizes.
Alongside, shoppers will also be entertained by performances featuring talented children showcasing choral speaking, talent shows, and art & cultural presentations.

Bloom in Style Lucky Draw
The celebration at Alamanda Shopping Centre is further elevated with the culmination of the Bloom in Style campaign, which ran from 21 July to 13 August 2023. Shoppers had the opportunity to receive Alamanda Fashion vouchers worth up to RM3,000.
Mesra Mall
In light of National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, Mesra Mall in Kemasik, Kemaman, Terengganu, is adorned with décor that resonates with the spirit of Merdeka. With the theme “Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan,” a lively Merdeka campaign also unfolds here from 26 August to 16 September 2023.
During this campaign period, shoppers who spend RM350 and above in two receipts at any specialty store can redeem a limited edition Merdeka T-shirt, adding a special touch to their shopping experience.
First 100 shoppers who come at 11am-2pm will receive the Jalur Gemilang flag and cupcake for free on 31 August 2023. On 16 September 2023, a Kids’ Traditional Costume Competition was held exclusively for VIKids members. Winners will receive hampers and cash vouchers as prizes.
