The Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 officially opened today at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), marking its 10th edition as Malaysia’s premier automotive exhibition. Organized by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) and managed by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., KLIMS 2024 showcases innovations in sustainability, electrification, and autonomous mobility under the theme “Beyond Mobility.”

The event was launched by YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, who emphasized KLIMS’ role in Malaysia’s green and innovative future. YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport, also attended the event.

KLIMS 2024 highlights transformative trends such as electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen-powered vehicles, and autonomous driving technologies. The event supports Malaysia’s energy transition goals, promoting EV adoption and green technology. By fostering collaboration between local manufacturers, SMEs, and global companies, KLIMS reinforces Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for automotive innovation.

YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable transportation and energy transition, “As we look to the future, I am confident that Malaysia has the potential to become a regional hub for electric vehicle production and innovation. With initiatives like the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the development of 3,171 EV charging stations nationwide, and full exemptions on import, excise, and sales duties for EVs, we are paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.”

Mohd Shamsor Bin Mohd Zain, President of the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) and Chairman of the KLIMS 2024 Organising Committee, also spoke about the event’s significance, “KLIMS 2024 represents more than just an automotive exhibition—it is a testament to the automotive industry’s resilience, adaptability, and forward-thinking. This year’s theme, ‘Beyond Mobility,’ reflects our commitment to advancing Malaysia’s transition to sustainable transportation and strengthening our position as a regional automotive leader.”

Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube, shared his excitement, “As the show manager of KLIMS 2024, we are thrilled to deliver a dynamic platform that bridges innovation, technology, and the automotive industry.”

Over 800 attendees gathered for the grand opening, which featured product previews from GWM, Perodua, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, KIA, MG Motor, GAC Aion, Honda, Proton, and other leading brands. Automotive clubs and activities such as race simulators add to the excitement, with prizes including a Toyota Yaris 1.5G Limited and a Perodua AXIA.
