On 4 January 2022, President of Big Bad Wolf Ventures Sdn Bhd,, was appointed as the Digital Penang Sdn Bhd’s board of directors. The state agency had stated that with the appointment of Ng Wan Peng, there would be a total of 11 directors under the leadership of Chairman Chow Kon Yeow and Vice-Chairman Zairil Khir Johari.
Previously, Ng Wan Peng was a part of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) while gaining experience as a Chief Operating Officer, Vice President, and senior manager for more than 20 years. During her time in MDEC, she had led several successful digital enablers for talent development, industry capability development, cybercities, and MSC flagship initiatives.
As an addition, Ng had also involved herself in the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ), where she provided key initiatives for the e-commerce ecosystem and developed the financial technology ecosystem for the startup’s digital transformation.
Chief Minister of Penang and Chairman of Digital Penang, Chow Kon Yeow, believes that Ng’s experience would benefit the State of Penang, while she could elevate the digital and software services while creating a robust startup ecosystem for Penang.
Chow also added, “Through Digital Penang, a government body established in April 2020, we hope to strengthen mobility, connectivity, and digital infrastructure where communities and stakeholders can live, learn, work and play in a digitally engaged society.”
