The World Kebaya Festival was a beautiful celebration of Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, timeless fashion, and vibrant traditions. The event reached its grand finale on the evening of December 1st at the Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel in Genting Highlands, with the crowning of Miss World Kebaya. The participants truly dazzled, showcasing remarkable finesse and elegance as they wore Malaysia’s exquisite Baju Kebaya.
The Miss World Kebaya competition went beyond the typical pageant, shining a spotlight on Malaysia’s rich heritage, cultural unity, and the timeless elegance of the Kebaya. This unique initiative aimed to elevate the Kebaya to a global stage, celebrating its intricate artistry and profound cultural significance. The evening was honored by an impressive array of dignitaries, including YBhg Senator Datuk Seri Dr. Zurainah Musa, Member of Dewan Negara, who served as the Guest of Honour, Encik Mohd Akbal Setia, Senior Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia, and YBhg Dato Kamil Othman, Chairman of FINAS.

“This festival was a tribute to the Kebaya, representing Malaysia’s unity, beauty, and heritage,” remarked Dr. Jason Hee Jee Pin, Organizing Chairman and President of Miss World Kebaya.
The night culminated in a dazzling finale, where Miss Ariel Peiyu Yao from China was crowned Miss Kebaya World 2024. A PhD holder in Business Administration and a successful entrepreneur from Yunnan Province, Ariel also claimed the coveted title of Miss Body Beautiful. She triumphed over nine other contestants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Sudan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Africa, Singapore, and Syria, showcasing the global reach and appeal of the Kebaya in this remarkable celebration.
