The visionary leader himself, YABhg. Tun Dr. Mahathir shares his insights on the future of the GIG economy in Malaysia as he inspires and encourages thousands of youths at the SEA Connect Creative Conference 2020 (SCCC 2020). Organized by Creative Cloud Community (CCC), SCCC 2020 is a CSR initiative to empower students and youths in the creative sector.
Tun Dr. Mahathir took his time to be a part of SCCC 2020, he believes that this event is the start for the leaders of tomorrow to better understand the potential and revolution of Gig opportunities in Malaysia. As we move into 2021 amidst this pandemic, the Gig economy is expected to diversify career pathways and may just as well be a new norm.
Despite the challenges of hosting a physical conference due to the pandemic, the Creative Cloud Community was quick to adapt to the situations to provide the best virtual experience to participants. The SCCC 2020 is a virtual conference platform like non-other that allows attendees to engage with speakers through an intriguing setup that simulates a physical event, with high-energy crowd engagement activities. Because of these features, it is easier to significantly suppress the challenges of having a virtual event to bring the best experience possible to viewers.
Acestar Group CEO and CCC Founder Natalie Sit said, “With the pandemic amongst and many obstacles along the way, we made sure that SCCC 2020 was held in a way in which safety was a priority while also bringing the event to being as stimulating and life-like as possible.”
Apart from being able to learn from industry leaders on how to succeed in this era where Gig Economy is booming, the conference features interactive virtual booths where attendees can visit and view the latest products from various brands. As part of its goal to upskill the creative industry in Malaysia, SCCC 2020 provided complementary entries for students, giving grasp to the fact that not every student is able to bear the cost of the tickets during these trying times.
“The whole reason behind this event is for students to strive and explore their passion and skills in the creative industry. With that in mind, we understand that bearing the cost of tickets can be burdensome to students, which is why we wanted to lift that burden off for students from all walks of life to participate for free,” Natalie Sit added.
