Datuk Ng emphasized that this year’s collection not only draws from the cultural significance of the Year of the Snake but also resonates with modern aspirations. In Chinese tradition, snakes are symbols of longevity, health, and prosperity, reflecting the renewal and hope that comes with the arrival of spring.
This year, Tomei also introduced a series of lion dance-inspired designs, including gold ang pows, pendants, and charms, in support of Malaysia and China’s joint application to have the lion dance recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. “The lion dance represents unity and pride in Malaysian culture. Tomei is proud to contribute to raising awareness of this tradition,” said Datuk Ng.
