The viral White Flag campaign has seen Malaysians offering a helping hand to those in need of food and daily necessities to those who are struggling during this EMCO. To further drive this initiative, local developers – Terato Tech, has developed the Kita Jaga Malaysia web app that allows users to provide or request assistance.
The web app basically enables users to “wave the white flag” virtually, and pinpoint their location. Those who wish to contribute can also insert the information of food banks on the digital map provided so that those who require supplies can locate them easily.
Users need only to insert their information after clicking on the “Saya perlu bantuan” (I need help) or “Saya ingin bantu” (I want to help) button on the web app and disclose their location on the digital map to submit requests.
The red icon with the white flag indicates the location and information of those in need of help, whereas the blue icon refers to food banks or willing contributors that people can contact for assistance.
