On 17 December 2021, Qube Integrated Malaysia organized the “Tradex Exponanza Of the World” a consumer carnival that lasted for 6 days straight. Through the collaboration with MATRADE, they aim to aid the local SMEs while they recover from the post pandemic as an initiative to boost the growth of the local economy.

“Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have always been the life-blood of the Malaysian economy. They have undergone vast challenges since the outbreak of the pandemic. A decrease in sales revenue due to overall weaker demand in domestic markets, and to some extent, foreign markets, have weakened their business. Many are burdened with high levels of excess inventory and are unable to turn stock on a regular basis. Moreover, the sudden change from physical to digital storefronts, is that, SMEs without an online presence found themselves cut off from the market” said MATRADE Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz.

“Since early this year, the Government has provided a variety of support measures to SMEs to help them survive the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now going forward as we move into the post pandemic recovery period, MATRADE wants to ensure its support efforts reach the small business owners. The organizing of this mega Consumer Carnival will surely fuel the enthusiasm and create sales opportunities for the SMEs to jump-start their business. MATRADE in its mission will continue to intensify programs and efforts to build SMEs for them to someday penetrate the international marketplace.” he continued.

To attract visitors to the exhibition, up to 100 various businesses participated in the “Tradex Exponanza Of the World”, serving as a platform for them to line up the products and services to the visitors. This includes food and beverage; beauty and fashion; arts and crafts; electronic gadgets; home living and travel. In addition to that, the MYFutureJobs career fair was also set up during the exhibition.
