The immersive projection mapping experience brought to life by NAKED INC
The Sakura Festival, presented by LaLaport BBCC and powered by NAKED, INC., has brought the enchanting spirit of Japan’s sakura season to Kuala Lumpur. NAKED, INC. transformed LaLaport BBCC’s WoW Plaza and Central Rooftop Garden into a mesmerizing wonderland with pink lights and projection mapping inspired by cherry blossoms. Authentic Keio cherry blossoms from Japan’s Yamagata Prefecture added to the ambiance.
The festival features a cultural exchange between Malaysia and Japan through innovative digital art. It kicked off with a performance by Malaysian rock group HOSHI-NO-OKA and will close with a show by Japanese idol girl group AKB48.
Beyond entertainment, the festival offers a tribute to Japanese culture with Sakanoue Café from Yushima, Japan, debuting at LaLaport BBCC and serving cherry blossom ice. Food vendors offer Sakura-inspired creations blending Malaysian and Japanese flavors. Interactive workshops and a Sakura Market in the Central Rooftop Garden provide hands-on experiences for visitors.
Visitors from all walks of life are invited to experience the Sakura Festival starting from 20 April – 19 May 2024 and celebrate Japan’s cherished season with a sensory feast of light, taste, and culture in Kuala Lumpur.
