On 11 December 2021, 2019 World Champion, Joffey Jolly alongside National Champion, Jake Chia Jun Kit, had both shone in the brightest light as they rose as champion for the 78 and 95 kilograms category respectively during the fourth National Arm Wrestling Competition 2021 that was held at Tropicana Aman Recreational Hub, Selangor. During this competition, a total of 42 categories was organized by Malaysia Armwrestling Federation (MYARM) as it was registered by 201 athletes from 14 different states all around Malaysia.
As Joffey asserted dominance in his 78kg category, he managed to defeat Jong Chi Joon from Sarawak with his left arm while securing his championship title by defeating Hanapi from Johor. Jake from Putrajaya managed to overpower his teammate Saifulhisham Shaffie and Frankie Petrus from Sabah.
First runner up of the 57 kg category, Safuan Asif, had also participated in the 63 kg category where he managed to conquer his teammate from Putrajaya, Iryan Syauqi Azhar, with both arms in the final showdown.
Mohd Zil Fadli Abd Halim, President of MYARM, stated that, “As the championship was participated by more than 200 renowned athletes, Jake Chia will be defending his title as the champion for the 95 kg category. By organizing this competition, it would be the first arm wrestling competition after a long hiatus due to Covid-19.”
He added that the champion from this competition will fully be sponsored by the organization as they will be representing Malaysia in the World Cup series that will be scheduled on 2022 March in Kuching, Sarawak.
