A collaboration between Nestlé Malaysia and the Ministry of Education is inspiring children nationwide to imagine a better tomorrow through creativity and teamwork.

Creativity took center stage as young Malaysians presented their visions of the nation’s future at the Koko Kraf Club 2025 National Grand Finale, themed “Future For My Country.” The initiative, jointly organized by Nestlé Malaysia and the Ministry of Education Malaysia, has grown into a nationwide movement that celebrates imagination, self-expression, and collaboration through fun, hands-on collage-making activities among primary school students.

Now in its second year, the program saw impressive growth with 12,507 students from 925 schools across 149 districts, a major increase from the 3,633 participants during its 2024 pilot.

Fifteen finalist teams representing Malaysia’s five zones, Central, North, South, East Coast, and East Malaysia/Borneo, competed at the Grand Finale. The national champions hailed from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kompleks Mengabang Telipot, Terengganu, comprising Ulya Mardhiyyah Bt Ahmad Mustaffa, Tuan Siti NurFatihah Bt Tuan Azham Zamiri, and Hana Uzma Binti Noramin. Each team of three, aged 10 to 12, showcased their dreams for Malaysia through colorful collages crafted from recyclable materials such as cereal boxes, yarn, and magazines, turning sustainability into creative expression.

YB Tuan Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in nurturing holistic development. “These artistic activities are an important component in the holistic development of students. Through programmes such as this, we are able to nurture students to participate in various art events at different levels, particularly national and international. This is not merely an achievement, but a platform to strengthen our artistic identity and creativity to greater heights. Student participation in the arts, especially in visual arts, not only uncovers talent but also develops abilities and skills that transcend personal boundaries.”

“Through our programme with the Ministry of Education, Nestlé Koko Krunch, in addition to providing a nourishing breakfast to children, plays a part in inspiring them and providing an opportunity to express their creativity and imagination through art. Through this collaboration, we are honoured to contribute to the educational development of the next generation of young Malaysians ready to shape a brighter future for their communities,” shared Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of  Nestlé Malaysia.

Philip Joe, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Breakfast Cereals Malaysia, added, “The excitement from kids across primary schools in Malaysia has been very encouraging, as we saw triple the participation this year. Big congratulations to the finalists. They made amazing pieces of art, expressing their hopes for the future of Malaysia, which is an inspiration for all of us!”

The winning collage from the Terengganu team depicted an imaginative underwater city surrounded by lush greenery, symbolizing a balance between progress and nature. Books and a globe featured prominently in their design, representing knowledge as the key to a sustainable future.

“Joining the Koko Kraf Club was really fun! We wanted our collage to show the Malaysia we dream about. This competition taught us that everyone’s ideas are important, and when we share and listen, we can create something even better,” shared the team.

Their teacher, Fazita Binti Mohammad, expressed pride in her students’ journey. “We’re incredibly proud of our students for their achievements throughout this journey! The Koko Kraf Club competition has been such a meaningful experience for them, from preparing at school to representing their state for the National Grand Finale. It’s wonderful to see the positive values they have learned and how excited they are to share their hopes and dreams for the nation.”

The 2025 Koko Kraf Club journey began with the district-level theme “Future For Me,” continued to the regional stage “Future For My Family,” and culminated nationally with “Future For My Country.” The competition featured two age categories: Category A (7–9 years) and Category B (10–12 years), with the latter advancing to the national finals.

Beyond the competition, the Grand Finale became a lively celebration of art and imagination. Families, teachers, and students participated in creative workshops such as Perler bead crafting and bracelet making, creating a joyful and inspiring atmosphere for all.

As the Koko Kraf Club continues to expand, its mission remains to nurture creativity, confidence, and collaboration among Malaysia’s youngest minds, encouraging them to dream big and imagine a brighter, more sustainable future.
