Friesenguys latest collection RENAIS-SAUCE showcased at Isetan Kuala Lumpur

Renowned fashion label FRIESENGUYS, led by Edie Chung, will unveil its latest collection, RENAIS-‘SAUCE’, at an exclusive fashion show at Isetan The Japan Store, Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. The event celebrates Isetan’s 34th anniversary and highlights its commitment to supporting local design talent.

The RENAIS-‘SAUCE’ collection combines bold aesthetics, timeless elegance, and sustainability, offering a fresh take on luxury fashion. Created from deadstock fabrics sourced from Parisian and Italian couture houses, the collection reflects a resourceful approach to design. The collection merges high-end craftsmanship with an innovative twist by repurposing high-quality materials that would otherwise go unused.

“It’s a collection that mixes timeless elegance with playful chaos. Like a cook, a designer requires all the right ingredients to create something special, and that’s how the name RENAIS-‘SAUCE’ came to be there’s an irony to its loud yet polished nature,” FRIESENGUYS explains.

“As a designer, you typically want to control every element of the process, but this time, the fabrics dictated the collection. The challenge was making it desirable, despite the unpredictability,” they added.

The collection features retro-inspired silhouettes paired with bold, modern prints, blending iconic shapes with bright, animated patterns. Alongside RENAIS-‘SAUCE’, FRIESENGUYS will debut a new line of Resort Holiday Wear, including artisanal hand-blocked and sun-dried pieces, offering a fresh perspective on vacation fashion.

This runway show underscores Isetan Kuala Lumpur’s long-standing role in promoting both global and local fashion since its establishment in 1990. As the first Japanese department store in Malaysia, Isetan has become a symbol of retail excellence and cultural diversity.
