Sneakers have always been more than just footwear, they’re cultural statements. From 4–7 September 2025, Sunway Pyramid’s Blue Atrium transformed into an immersive playground for Malaysia’s youth culture as FILA unveiled its Echappe LX showcase. The campaign theme, “Bold Moves, Into the Outland,” framed the brand’s latest push to connect futuristic design with local creative communities.
The Echappe LX is built with a futuristic silhouette and functional details, including breathable mesh uppers, supportive overlays, and Ortholite insoles. Its standout “F” logo underfoot ties the design back to FILA’s sporting heritage while embodying boldness and individuality. FILA introduces the Echappe LX, now debuting in two bold new colourways, Mocha and Olive, adding to the existing colours of Choco and Cream.

Beyond the product, FILA leaned into cultural storytelling. The showcase placed young Malaysian voices at the forefront, featuring live sets from girl group Gentes, represented by performer and social media personality Elyn, and boy group ALPHA, known for their confident stage presence. Music, interactivity, and fashion collided in a four-day experience that blurred the line between retail launch and youth festival.
Elyn shared how the sneakers tied into her group’s outlook, “Just like the motto of Gentes, ‘Dream a Journey,’ fashion should be bold and adventurous. The new Echappe LX is so versatile, it gives me the freedom to play with different looks, when I want to keep it casual or decide to go bold. The new colourways channel extra energy into any outfit, and I think that’s what makes them perfect for our generation. With these sneakers, your personality can always shine through fashion.”

Daniel Sher, speaking for ALPHA, echoed the sense of identity the collection represents, “For us, style is all about movement and confidence, and the Echappe LX carries that fearless energy. Whether we’re performing on stage or just hanging out, the design blends urban minimalism with a futuristic edge. It feels like it was made for people who are always ready to take a bold step forward. That’s why this collection really reflects the trailblazing attitude in us.”

Over the course of four days, the Blue Atrium transformed into an experiential space where visitors could step into an imagined “Outland.” Stations such as The Gate, The Bunker, The Fitting Bay, The Dune, and The Foundry encouraged guests to explore, style themselves, and take home personalised keepsakes. The setup blurred natural terrains with urban landscapes, mirroring the campaign’s call to explore boundaries.
Beyond the sneakers themselves, the showcase became a meeting point for music, fashion, and youth culture, a reflection of how global brands are increasingly weaving themselves into the fabric of local creative communities. As the crowd filtered out, one thing was clear: for many of Malaysia’s young urban explorers, the Echappe LX isn’t just about footwear. It’s about embracing bold steps in fashion, performance, and the way they express themselves.
