“The Lost Treasure,” TMF 2021

Alibaba Group hosts its sixth Taobao Maker Festival (TMF) involving more than 100 Taobao merchants with a significant upgrade from last year. This time around, the gala is held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai, China and will be featured in “The Lost Treasure” theme.

Visitors will find that the festival is full of immersive in-person experiences to explore along with China’s first large-scale scavenger hunt; clues and puzzles are spread across multiple zones in a 30,000-square-meter expo. Guests at this year’s event can also enjoy the works of eight contemporary Chinese artists, whose explorations of culture and technology demonstrate the boundless possibilities of creative expression. The TMF this year will be held from 17-25 July.

Interactive exhibits and light shows

Chris Tung, Chief  Marketing Officer of Alibaba Group, said, “To support creators and merchants on the platform, the event comes back this year with a gamified fantasy experience inspired by the Tang Dynasty to  give visitors a fun and interactive way to explore the premises while perusing products from Taobao’s most innovative storefronts.”
