MATME Management presents the return of The Malaysia Championship of Performing Arts (MCOPA) 2021 on their quest for Malaysia’s best performers to compete for a place in Team Malaysia which is only open to those residing in Malaysia.
The MCOPA is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Malaysia(MOTAC). Winners will then represent Team Malaysia in the World Champions of Performing Arts in Las Vegas, USA that will be held in November 2021, in collaboration with Uplive Malaysia. Through Uplive Malaysia, up to 200mil people in Asia will be able to stream the competition Live, for free, and vote for their favorite talents.
The MCOPA auditions will be held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The MCOPA selections are narrowed to 6 categories – Vocal, Dance, Instrumental, Modelling, Acting and Variety Act. The competition is divided into two age groups, juniors (5 – 15 years old) and seniors (16 & above); contestants can also choose to participate in solo, duet, or group performances.
Qualified contestants are required to undergo a Worldstars talent training course and an artist development program, as well as a comprehensive class to be a Celebrity/KOL, before they can compete in the MCOPA Live Finals. The selected winners of the MCOPA will then experience a month of intensive training before they move on to compete as Team Malaysia in the WCOPA.
MATME Management will be offering prized scholarships to the winners of the WCOPA 2021 – A scholarship worth RM14,500 will be awarded to the overall best performer and the grand champions of each category will be rewarded with a scholarship worth RM2,100.
