Didi & Friends, the current trend for most preschool children in Malaysia as this local animation series was created by Digital Durian or better known as DD Animation studio which was established in 2008.
Sinan Ismail, the CEO of Digital Durian says goodbye to Didi & Friends alongside with those who support them throughout the 13 years of making the animation series. Sinan wrote a very long and emotional post on his Facebook page reminiscing all the memories that they gone through as a team together with the achievements made by Didi & Friends.
Started in 2014 as a short animation on YouTube to a TV show airing on Astro Ceria a few years after it made a big hit on YouTube, they decided to work closely with Astro to make the animation series to have a longer screening time on 2017. “After signing with Astro as the co-producer of Didi & Friends, the show will be air on Astro Ceria starting from 18th December 2015 to this very day,” stated in Sinan’s Facebook post.
As Didi & Friends rose in popularity, it is sad to say that they decided to let go the ownership of the animation to Hairul Faizal Izwan Ahmad Sofian who is the Co- Founder of Digital Durian who soon plans to establish another company.
In Sinan’s Facebook post, he thanked everyone who supported the animation as he deeply appreciates everyone who made his dream of making kids animation as a reality.
