Malaysia’s annual ‘Oscar’ awards for real estate, also known as the Malaysia Property Award 2021 which was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic was successfully organized and held on 29 March 2022.
Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Bin Haji Abdul Razak, Yang di Pertua Negeri of Penang and Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Utama Khadijah Binti Mohd Nor appeared gracefully to the event. At the same time, 17 award winners proudly received their award trophies from the Royal Guest of Honor.

Dr. Yu Kee Su, the Organizing Chairman said that they had a different experience this year as the judging process transitioned from physical to online, whereby the usual physical site evaluation and tour took place virtually due to the MCO.

Dato’ Seri Koe conveyed that “property development businesses in the 21st century are not just about brick and mortar anymore.” Dr. Yu Kee Su then added that the growing demands for sustainability and green technology among the consumers prompt the developers to take serious attention to the consumers’ awareness.
“Proptech is the latest buzzword on everybody’s lips today,” said Yu. The buzzword of application in technology in the property industry makes the entire real estate chain of managing, constructing, buying, and selling, easier and more efficient.
Apart from that, the Organizing Committee has also revealed their consideration to add a “sustainability and new technology” category next year. Applicants are encouraged to submit their projects in the upcoming Malaysia Property Award 2022, where the winners will compete at the international event – FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2023.
