Mixing horror and comedy together, Grand Brilliance Studio in cooperation with Primeworks Studio has premiered its newest film, “Saka Perawan.” The film was directed and published by Dr. Ahmad Idham, popular for his films such as Jangan Pandang Belakang, Ad-nan Sempit, and Senario.
Featuring legendary comedy actors and new ones such as Azlee Senario, Yassin Senario, Datuk Hajah Fauziah Nawi, Sophia Albarakbah, and more, the film is categorized as a family-friendly film, showcasing a mix between horror elements and comedy.

Idham said, “The horror-comedy genre is my favorite. It is for those who dare to laugh through the horror. I formulated the elements by combining comedian and non-comedian actors in one horror story set in a Malay community in a Malay village. Revolving around a perennial entity to be made as a film.”
“Apart from a good combination of horror and comedy elements, the uniqueness of this film is driven by the narration itself where it is taken through social criticism that is very close to today’s society. The presence of legendary comedy actors and new actors helps to balance the character dynamics in this film. Indirectly the comedic side in each actor can be brought out without them realizing it,” he added.
Additionally, the new film also comes with its original soundtrack titled, ‘Saka Perawan,’ sung by the musical group, Floor 88, along with special appearances by Azlee, and Yassin from the hit show, Senario.

Zai Hamzah, guitarist from Floor 88 commented saying, “The song ‘Saka Perawan’ is based on folk songs and was completed within a month. The inspiration for this song and lyrics was based on the storyline of the movie Saka Perawan itself. We hope fans and listeners will be able to accept and love our collaboration with legendary stars Azlee and Yassin from the group Scenario.”
