On 27 January 2022, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) had launched the 25th anniversary of the signature Coffee Break Campaign. During the anniversary, they offered free health screening, vehicle inspection and discount vouchers to motorists for the upcoming Chinese New Year. The offers will be available from 29 January to 30 January and 5 February till 6 February, at 150 PETRONAS gas stations all across Malaysia. This initiative was to allow drivers and riders to have safe driving behavior in order to reduce road accidents. This initiative by PETRONAS was supported by the Minister of Transport as they have the same mission to reduce road accidents.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Transport, Deputy Minister YB Dato Henry Sum Agong, stated, “The Malaysian government would like applaud PETRONAS for their relentless initiative on reducing accident rate in Malaysia and for the past 25 years, they had been providing an avenue for motorists to take a break during their long drive. We saw a reduction in the number of road accidents by 26% to over 400,000 cases in 2020 compared against 2019, primarily due to MCO. However, this number is still worrying with road fatalities recording over 4,000 cases, representing 12.7 death per day.”

While demonstrating the safety programs, AXXESS will also provide Personal Accident Insurance worth up to RM25,000 to motorists as a complimentary.

Not to miss out on the motorcycle inspection, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd and PETRONAS AutoExpertto, will ensure that all vehicles would be in their best condition before the riders hit the road again. This includes motorcycle inspection by Hong Leong Yamaha Motor and engine oil change by PETRONAS AutoExpertto.
