PENANG HONOURS PKT LOGISTICS’S DATO DR MICHAEL TIO J.P. WITH THE TITLE “DATO’ SERI”

As announced on Facebook, PKT Logistics Group’s Group Chief Executive and Managing Director, Dato ‘ (Dr. ) Michael Tio J.P. has been conferred the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN) which carries the title “Dato ‘ Seri”. The award was conferred by the eighth Yang-di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak in conjunction with His Excellency’s 72nd Birthday on Thursday, which also conferred 1,035 other state awards to various recipients.  

When congratulated by Kr8tif Express Founder & Publisher, Adam Ham, Dato’ Michael Tio was ecstatic about his journey and with great enthusiasm, he acknowledged Adam Ham’s wishes and thanked him for it.

It was evident that Dato’ Seri Dato’ Dr Michael Tio would be a true entrepreneurial icon of Malaysia, starting at a young age showing his potential in business. It was the entrepreneurial gene that he carries down from his father Dato’ Tio Sook Keo who founded Port Klang Trading (was renamed PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd) back in 1974. 

With his great success in the logistics industry in the region, he was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor by the University Utara Malaysia. His vision towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is that “CSR is not about how you spend your profits, CSR is about how responsible you make your profits,” which has made PKT’s CSR stand out among the rest. 

Dato ‘ (Dr. ) Michael Tio conferred the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN) which carries the title “Dato ‘ Seri”.

As of now, Dato’ Seri Dato’ Dr Michael Tio has digitally transformed PKT as an automotive logistics leader in Malaysia with a customer base of over 10 car brands. PKT also focuses on logistics in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Food & Beverage (F&B). The One Logistics Hub which comprises 3 state-of-the-art concept warehouses The Ship, The Waves, and The Lighthouse is a self-sustaining logistics hub to cater for the ASEAN region. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Book of Records. 

In the mean time, Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor, the wife of the Penang Governor, was also conferred the Darjah Utama Pangkuan Negeri (DUPN), which comes with the title “Datuk Seri Utama”, as well as Media Prima’s Group Chairman Datuk Dr Syed Hussian Syed Junid and former Maybank Chairman Datuk Mohaiyani Shamsudin with the Darjah Panglima Pangkuan Negeri (DPPN), which carries the ‘Datuk Seri’ title.
